REMINISCENCE

by Marin Sorescu

We look at each other
And say it looks like a sheep flock.
We shudder when we see the wolf
In the Zoology book.

Sometimes we miss
The mountains so much, that
We can see the grass growing
On the desks.

There are thoughts that keep coming
On our old address
Because each of us is
The Shepherd who lost his sheep
In the subconsciousness.
